Samosa Pie

Samosa Pie

I was propped up on my sofa last evening absolutely relishing the samosa that my mother had given me the day before. My husband and I had gone to visit my folks for some chaat and chit chat. I was more than happy to take some left overs which resulted in my breakfast the following morning. On my way back from work, all I could think about was the left over samosa in the fridge and what a treat it was when I reached home and that samosa was all mine! *Heavenly music in the background*

As I was  devouring that glorious samosa, my mind started wandering to the usual mundane evening checklist – the cook would be home soon, what should we get him to make for dinner. As I did a mental scan of what the shelves of my fridge held, it suddenly struck me that I have some left over pastry dough from the quiche I had made the other day. I had been racking my brains trying to come up with some smart way to utilize that dough.. and there it was, in my hand and the taste lingering in my mouth. I would make a Samosa Pie! I instantly sprung up from my seat, all exhaustion from the day forgotten, into the kitchen trying to attempt something that I was so excited about and had come to me at the spur of the moment. I couldn’t have felt more like a MasterChef star! Bwahahaha!!

Recipe coming soon…

  3. You dreadful tease! Need recipe! Samosas are another thing we don’t make at home. There are just so many great places to buy them, we don’t need to make them. I used to work with an Indian woman whose mother (or aunt?) made a massive batch every month, and every month, the co-workers got a tray full of them for lunch one day. I miss that workplace sometimes. 🙂

    1. Haha! I apologize. Putting up the recipe is the assignment of the day.
I have never made a samosa in my life. If its easy for you to get samosas you can imagine how much easier it is for me to source them. These ones. however, tasted a bit different because of the pastry dough. It had a slight sweetish tinge to it and its not fried. That to me was also a very important thing as I could have a lot more!
